Jodi Tess
Tribal Coalition Partner

Jodi is a proud Oneida tribal member, mother, grandmother, and a passionate advocate for the elderly. With over 15 years of experience in various aspects of elderly care—ranging from personal and healthcare support to nutritional, mental, and social well-being—she has dedicated much of her life to supporting the elders in her community. A strong advocate for elder abuse protection on the reservation, Jodi works tirelessly to raise awareness and drive change.
Currently, she collaborates with tribal elders, leaders, and other advocates to draft and implement elder care codes for the Oneida Nation. Jodi leads a bi-monthly elder justice resource meeting, contributes to an elder prevention series in the tribal newspaper, conducts private interviews with elders, and educates the community on identifying and preventing elder abuse. She also partners closely with local County Adult Protective Services (APS) teams to address cases of elder abuse on the reservation. Jodi firmly believes that protecting our elders is not only honoring our past, but safeguarding our future.
